Twitter & Shashi Tharoor

All are aware of Mr.Shashi Tharoor Twitter addiction, both inseparable.

But his tweeting landed him into trouble over a journalist questioning him about his travel plans to Kerala in Economy class (referred as Cattle Class).

Tharoor in reply to the journo said, ‘Yes in the cattle class with holy cows'.

Apparently this tweet did not go well in the public domain with wide criticism from many quarters including Congress. Some came forward demanding his resignation!!!

Well, the new age Twitter cannot stand against the mighty rigid attitude of India's oldest Political party!! Infact, the poster boy of Congress Tharoor was anticipated to bring in change within the Congress & Government functioning to match up with the globalization.

Is the Congress overreacting over the trivial issue on mere humour statement?

Or is it nervous and trying to maintain its AAM ADMI Austere image?

Is the issue completely misunderstood and taken out of context?

Is Congress finding it too difficult to adjust to the modern Internet age?

Seems media is publicizing too much on needless issue and make a mountain of mole. Is some section of media trying to lobby ouster of Tharoor by speculation?

However, let me mention that twitter is good medium where a Central minister is easily accessible to the people directly, cutting down all the red tapesim.

Is any other minister in UPA cabinet so easily accessible? Why do media not debate on this issue? Is it that Tharoor overdoing on twitter? May be he must restrict his tweeting habits especially as he occupies an important office in the Government.

Especially, his OSD Jacob has manifested act of immaturity by venting his anger openly through Twitter, not suiting his position of being OSD to the junior EAM.

He must remember that his personal comments on public forum like twitter have impact in the political arena. Seems he is not mature to handle the post of OSD to the Junior EAM keeping in mind his tweets. Adding a further perspective, does the Official Secret Act restrict him twittering? Well, voices within Congress and media rising for ouster of Tharoor-Seems he is on his way out very soon.

If he resigns then Twitter must rehabilitate Mr.Tharoor, after all he is twitter loyalist!!!

Very good - you have put things in proper perspective !!

I dont understand why politicians have to make a big hue & cry about inconsequential things - if every word that every person says is going to be dissected, there will be hardly any time to do "real work" -

sad thing is there is no way to stop this criminal waste of time and resources - all of us like to comment on others actions / non action rather than focusing on our life & work

    Cheers,
    Pankaj
